About Dr. Roberta Kalafut
At SpineAbilene in Abilene, Texas, Roberta Kalafut has assisted patients in avoiding complicated spinal surgeries and resolving chronic back and neck pain for more than a decade.
SpineAbilene was founded by Roberta Kalafut and her husband in 1998. Roberta Kalafut and the other board-certified physiatrists at SpineAbilene provide patients with a number of treatment options ranging from physical therapy to spinal injections in an AAHC-approved ambulatory surgical center. At SpineAbilene, Roberta Kalafut specializes in industrial medicine, spine and musculoskeletal disorders, and nonsurgical procedures to resolve chronic pain in women.
Before coming to SpineAbilene, Roberta Kalafut served as the Medical Director of the Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation in Abilene. From 1993 to 1996, Roberta Kalafut participated in the Hendrick Center’s Continuing Quality Improvement and Utilization Review Committees.
A member of the Texas Medical Association and an advisor to the Texas Medical Board, Roberta Kalafut preceded her many accomplishments in Texas with positions practicing in Maryland. After a year on Legislative Committee of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, Roberta Kalafut was elected President of the institution’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine divisions, though her relocation to Texas prevented her from accepting the position.
Educated at Youngstown State University in Ohio and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Roberta Kalafut is board certified in physical medicine, pain medicine, and rehabilitation.
